Mission
My mission is to promote optimal function and well-being through safe and sustainable yoga and movement practices tailored to individuals' needs.
My path
As a physical therapist with over 30 years of experience, I have worked primarily with people who have brain injuries, strokes, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders and spinal cord injuries in rehabilitation centers, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, and home care. I also taught adult neurologic physical therapy at the university level. My many years of experience in a variety of settings informs my yoga practice and teaching.
For personal wellness, I have always loved yoga and how it addresses our whole being--body, mind, and spirit. In 2016, I entered into yoga teacher training to deepen my personal practice and to integrate yoga and physical therapy. In 2022, I entered a program to become a certified yoga therapist. The tools of yoga enrich and enhance the tools of physical therapy to optimize health and wellbeing in a holistic way.
Since receiving my yoga teacher certification, my professional focus has been to share yoga with people with physical challenges to promote optimal function and wellness as they move through life's journeys. Now as a physical therapist completing a yoga therapy certification program, I am expanding to offer individual therapy sessions that integrate the many tools of yoga therapy and physical therapy to bring a sense of balance and ease to people of all ages.
